The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts presents selected works of art from our Early Childhood Education programs. Each work on display was created in one of VMFA’s many programs designed to reach children aged 3 months to 5 years. The works of art in this exhibition demonstrate the diverse experiences that the museum’s youngest participants gain through these exciting and popular programs.
VMFA’s Early Childhood Education programs connect early learning to the museum’s world-renowned collection, introducing them to diverse subjects such as world cultures, science, literature, and mathematics. Students play, enjoy music and movement activities, take gallery walks, and create multisensory art projects. They also build self-awareness and social skills.
With offerings such as individual classes, multi-day camps, and group visits for pre-K classes, VMFA Early Childhood Education programs benefit every young child. To learn more about VMFA Early Childhood Education programs, check out our current Classes & Programs Brochure.
