"LiGHTPiA" 2018 Fashion Design Course Graduate Miki Imamura
"LiGHTPiA = Light utopia. Appeared lights and disappeared lights. Lights and dances in the wordless world. With the pray for hope and peace, I express freedom and liberation with light graffiti."
"By foil printing a pattern of scribbles and doing cutwork by hand, I made a shining lace with a light of hope streams down."
"Thinking about special feelings and possibilities of design which are generated by haute couture, I tried to create the one and only world view using some techniques only our hands can do."
This garment is made from polyester cardboard knit which makes a good combination with cutwork.
"The concept is ballet dancers. Since their everyday clothes are usually casual, I incorporated elements of street fashion which consists of casual items."
It's a mixed style of street fashion and haute couture.
"Trench coats are the main items of the collection. The traditional coat represents an image of independent woman and is in common with ballerinas' strong minds."
I made a tulle by hand-pleating and created an unique voluminous feeling.
