Anna Kenar - March / May Artist in Residence (2019) by Goodyear ArtsGoodyear Arts

While in residence at Goodyear Arts, Anna Kenar created large scale wood cut prints by carving into 4 x 8 foot sheets of plywood which she printed by walking on top of the wood.

Llucy Long - March / May Artist in Residence (2019) by Goodyear ArtsGoodyear Arts

Llucy Long constructed a series of woven sculptural figures to create an installation, "Revival of the Elders Council", which honored the essence of the living elders of her maternal lineage.

Casey Malone - March / May Artist in Residence (2019) by Goodyear ArtsGoodyear Arts

Musician Casey Malone worked to create a visual album, "Forever Water Songs", which was presented at the residency showcase along with a live performance.

Kilee Price - March / May Artist in Residence (2019) by Goodyear ArtsGoodyear Arts

Multidisciplinary artist, Kilee Price,
referenced memes and millennial nostalgia in a series of paintings and sculptures.

Milik Kashad, Lenny Muckle, David Sackett, Katrina Sánchez Standfield

Artist in Resident, Milik (2019-05-01) by Goodyear ArtsGoodyear Arts

Milik Kashad is a photographer, filmmaker, and performer who created a series of portraits, and a film accompanied by a living room installation presented with a live performance at the residency showcase.

Lenny Muckle worked to produce a streaming album designed to gradually degrade over time and presented new music during a live performance.

David Sackett - June / August Residency (2019) by Goodyear ArtsGoodyear Arts

Using steel, aluminum, wood, urethane plastic, and found objects, David Sackett created a series of sculptures which embrace idiosyncrasy while questioning larger cultural contexts.

Katrina Sánchez Standfield - June / August Residency (2019) by Goodyear ArtsGoodyear Arts

Using a custom 3D printed drill attachment, Kat Sánchez Standfield produced piles of colorful knitted strands which hung from the gallery ceiling alongside an invitation for visitors to “Play” and “Kindly Touch” the installation.

Milik Kashad performs "Get Over It and Get On With It" at a residency showcase. The multi-diciplinary work is centered around a 1990s themed infomercial that advertises that it has the one, sure fire way to help you forget all negative events that happened in your life and propel toward the stress free life we all aspire to have.

JM Askew - Residency Performance

JM Askew is a musician, audio engineer, and sound artist who used her residency to learn software and utilize new technologies. The outcome of this research and experimentation was an interactive performance in which the audience played the role of a conductor.

Ivan Depeña - September / November Artist in Residence (2019) by Goodyear ArtsGoodyear Arts

Ivan Depeña layered painting and drawings on large wooden panels which were then “excavated” using computer controlled machinery to reveal hidden layers of color and texture, creating geographic allusions.

Seirin Nagano - September / November Artist in Residence (2019) by Goodyear ArtsGoodyear Arts

Seirin Nagano created a series of geometric cast paper pulp sculptures. The individual pieces hung suspended in the gallery to create "Threshold Consciousness", an installation which was shown alongside a site specific mural and other 2-D works at the residency showcase.

Jon Prichard - September / November Artist in Residence (2019) by Goodyear ArtsGoodyear Arts

Jon Prichard is a multidisciplinary artist who spent his residency combining printmaking processes with painting and finding the overlap of identifiable image, ornament, and pure abstraction to create a series of new 2-D and 3-D works.

JM Askew's "In Her Visible Hands" invited audience members to conduct musicians through several 15-minute long free improvisations, in which the musicians performed sounds as conducted by random audience members.
