From renowned Australian and international orchestras to the YouTube Symphony Orchestra and Australian World Orchestra, the Opera House Concert Hall stage continues to showcase classical music’s greatest and latest.

Launched on 1 December 2008, the YouTube Symphony Orchestra is the world’s first online collaborative orchestra, assembled through open auditions hosted by YouTube, the London Symphony Orchestra and several other worldwide partners.
In addition to its resident companies – the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and the Australian Chamber Orchestra – the Sydney Opera House has, since 2006, hosted the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, and the Australian World Orchestra which has brought some of Australia’s best musicians from around the world together since 2011 under the baton of, amongst others, Zubin Mehta and Sir Simon Rattle.
