The Sinaloa Science Centre opened in 1992, featuring interactive exhibits. After 25 years of continuous operations, in January 2018, the building and exhibits renovation process started and will conclude in January of 2020.

In the renovation process, the Science Centre will redefine its public value and take action to maximize its social impact by contributing to individual and collective wellbeing, promoting social justice and cohesive communities. The renovation not only applies to the new building or exhibits but also to the way the Science Centre is conceived and how it serves its diverse visitors.

Materia, the Museum of the Science Centre will not have a permanent exhibit; the museum presents different temporary exhibition projects that allow a calendar rich in both activities and expositions.
