The historical archive of the Italian General Confederation of Labor (CGIL), formed from the years immediately following the reconstitution of the unitary CGIL, in 1980 receives the "statement of remarkable historical interest" by the Archival Superintendence. It receives further additions in 1998 and 2011.
The archive collects materials that cover a period of time from 1944 to nowadays and whose consistency amounts to approximately 9,000 files for an equivalent of 950 linear meters. Completely reorganized, filed and made available to scholars until 1986, the Archive also hosts an important iconographic section.
All the minutes of the statutory bodies and all the Confederal circulars, from 1944 to 1986, are available online at http://www.cgil.it/archivi/
