The Center for the Memory of Education (CME) was created in 2001 as a scientific body of the Faculty of Education of the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) and its purpose is to capture, promote and make available documentary sources related to the memory of Brazilian education, in order to stimulate research related to the memories and histories of education in the various areas of knowledge.
Its collection currently consists of the following three funds (sets of archival documents): MALBA TAHAN (Júlio César de Mello e Souza); COLE (Congresso de Leitura do Brasil) and RBHE (Revista Brasileira de História da Educação). The CME has been preserving this documentation and these document sets include textual, iconographic, sound and three-dimensional documents, whose arrangement system is being treated and organized according to archival standards and opened for consultation by appointment.
