Since its founding in 1992, the CUNY Dominican Studies Institute (CUNY DSI) at The City College of New York has been a trailblazer in advancing research on people of Dominican descent in the United States and beyond. CUNY DSI’s mission is supported by key components: the Dominican Library, a specialized reference collection preserving bibliographical sources on the Dominican experience; the Dominican Archives, a repository documenting the contributions of Dominicans in the U.S.; pioneering research initiatives and conferences; public lectures and exhibitions; and a competitive internship and fellowship program in Dominican Studies. The Institute remains committed to producing and disseminating research that deepens understanding of Dominican history and culture.
