A Plaza born from community
Quisqueya Plaza replaced a Dyckman parking lot, creating a lively, car-free zone that spotlights Dominican identity. Driven by community activism, the plaza hosts markets, arts, and live performances, enriching neighborhood culture and unity in Upper Manhattan.
Dominican Taste Festival
Since 2022, Quisqueya Plaza has hosted the Dominican Taste Festival, spotlighting local cuisine, music, and community. The event celebrates Dominican culture and strengthens ties through shared flavors and collective joy.
Future of community space
As Quisqueya Plaza expands its programming and partnerships, it remains a strategic site for cultural preservation, local economic activity, and civic engagement—reinforcing Dominican presence and shaping how public space reflects community needs in Upper Manhattan.
