Where at the end of the 19th century artists such as Paul Müller-Kaempff, Anna Gerresheim or Elisabeth von Eicken captured the maritime landscape in color in a wonderful way, these days the Ahrenshoop Art Museum invites visitors to take an exciting stroll through the region's art history. The architectural masterpiece made of architectural bronze is home to important treasures from the almost 130-year history of the Ahrenshoop artists' colony and permanently displays around 100 works by them in a permanent exhibition. In an impressive way they demonstrate the diversity of artistic creation between the sea and the Bodden and show a panorama of art historical positions of the recent past. Special shows on distinctive and distinguished artists or on architectural themes as well as a variety of events complement the exhibition program. A must for everyone interested in art and modern architecture!
