The Centre Pompidou is an unmissable place for modern and contemporary art located in the heart of Paris. A Center for Multidisciplinary Art, it houses the National Museum of Modern Art - which holds the 2nd largest international collection of modern and contemporary art in the world - a public library (BPI), cinemas, theaters and a center of musical creation (IRCAM). Inaugurated in 1977, this iconic building of the 20th century was designed by architects Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers, who received the Pritzker Prize after the project inauguration. The Pompidou Center has quickly become one of the most visited cultural sites in the world and one of the most visited monuments in France.
