About Converge 45

Converge 45 is a non-profit arts organization that produces a Contemporary Arts Biennial in Portland, Oregon. In collaboration with the dynamic arts community in Portland, Converge 45 develops a city-wide exhibition across the metropolitan area every two years.

About Seba Calfuqueo

Seba Calfuqueo are from Mapuche origin. Their work appeals to their inheritance to propose a critical reflection on the social, cultural, and political status of the Mapuche subject in contemporary Chilean society and Latin America.

About Seba Calfuqueo's Alka domo

In Alka domo, Seba Calfuqueo holds a hollowed-out tree trunk above their head at places of personal history and significance to the artist as well as at various public sites, representing the complex interaction between Mapuche and Chilean culture.

About Seba Calfuqueo's Flowing Like Waterfalls

Flowing Like Waterfalls was a 20-minute performance that approached the power of water's fluidity as a means to explore the body, gender, sexuality, and the relationship of water with life, forests, and ecosystems.

About Malcolm Peacock

Malcolm Peacock is an artist living and working in New Orleans, LA. He is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice examines the emotional and psychic spaces of Black subjects. Peacock is particularly interested in the intricacies of intimacy.

More about Malcolm Peacock

He earned a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, in 2016 and an MFA from Rutgers University, New Jersey, in 2019. He has shown with Cindy Rucker Gallery, New York, Terrault Contemporary, Baltimore, and Rose Arcade, Baltimore, among other venues.

About Vo Vo

Vo Vo is a radical educator of 13 years in over 20 countries in racial justice, intercultural communication, trauma-informed care, de-escalation, and transformative justice.

More about Vo Vo

In their visual art, they primarily work in textiles, embroidery, weaving, and furniture building. Their installations seek to interrogate power dynamics, structural oppression, and challenge realities of imperialism, white supremacy, and colonization.

About Derek Franklin

Derek Franklin is the Artistic Director of Converge 45 and director of SE Cooper Contemporary. Franklin is a former director at the artist-run space Soloway in Brooklyn, NY.

More about Derek Franklin

He received his BFA from the Pacific Northwest College of Art and his MFA from Mason Gross School of Art at Rutgers University. Franklin's works have been presented in New York, Chicago, Portland, Mexico City, Copenhagen, and more.
