Lai Jiun-Ting - Understand_V.T.S.
Is there any other way for us to understand the world by Human and AI
Is it possible to create more complete values with a wider perspective of
world? Understand_V.T.S is an interactive sensory substitution installation for us
to perceive the world, which is carried out through the creation of new neurons
in charge of tactile sensory, it tries out how well our
brains (natural) work with AI (man-made).
This piece of work conducts an experiment, in which the possibility of the cooperation between natural and artificial algorithms is assessed.
The feature of neuroplasticity allows our senses to perceive the world in various ways: we might not see with our eyes, but with skin, we might not listen through our ears, but through taste buds.

Varvara Grankova - @nenasilie
An interactive project about psychological violence and abuse. The Instagram account @nenasilie, where the artist posts pictures of people with phrases attached on their bodies. The phrases in the photos are real stories of the hurtful moments of the models and are also some kind of diary of their life. The second photo in the gallery is a transformation of these phrases into words of kindness the person in the photo would like to hear instead.

Fragmentin - 2199
2199 is a performative virtual reality installation, questioning the notion of authority, perception and control. Three users wear virtual reality helmets and are seated on platforms that can rotate. Together, they are committed to a choreography by a voice giving them orders. The user finds himself in a minimal virtual world, abstract but rather faithful to the spatial physical reality around him. Thus, the platforms and chairs are appearing in both virtual and physical realms and are positioned accordingly. Users head rotations are also transcribed in the virtual world in real time. Together with the others two participants, he is committed to a choreography. Without being made aware of, the user becomes an actor of the artwork, giving it life and assuming the potential responsibility for its success or interpretation.

Fei Li - CNY/USD, CNY/EUR, CNY/GBP
How is this world running? This work explores culture exchange under the economic system. CNY/GBP, CNY/USD, CNY/EUR translates the exchange rates of currencies into a live sound work. Each period of exchange reflects a specific cultural period like an echo. To the artist, an exchange rate is like a split line between cultures, two sides always changing with the economic curve. The baseline of the exchanging rate becomes equivalent to an invisible value criteria. Through basic artificial intelligence and big data, this sound installation makes visible the audible aspects of virtual data, and transmits this curve of ‘value’ to sound. It forms a heart-rate monitor of the world, connecting with each individual.

Four different noises from different ‘invisible’ speakers for audiences.
Four different live exchange charts were displayed on screens and were coded to live sound by smart devices at the same time.
Vyacheslav Tishin - Inversion of the Watermelon Line
The artwork is studying the variety of feedback, the step-by-step process of communication, the figuring out an “elephant” through his feet, trunk, tail, etc. The inversion algorithm for the mixed media collage is the random text chat web service with a stranger.
