The meaning of noble, both attached to the mind and attached to culture, always contains the meaning of virtue. Noble refers to the main thing, the high thing, the thing that all intelligent beings aspire to and aim for.

Cerdas Berbudi Luhur
In fact, cerdas dan berbudi luhur are two dimensions that cannot be separated. It can be seen, we always connect reason and mind to become "mind" in one equivalent meaning.
On one dimension, the mind and intelligence that are honed can move quickly, are accumulative, take scientific paths, and continue in the process of seeking truth which refers to natural locus.
In another dimension, a noble mind that is filled with ideological values can give birth to maturity and wisdom that is able to make humans able to restrain themselves, control themselves, and self-reflect in the midst of the progress they are experiencing.
The intelligence that is fought for is intelligence with a noble character that is filled with the values of patience, gratitude, love, humility, helping others, cooperation, honesty, responsibility, tolerance, and courtesy.
The attainment of intelligence is realized through the vision of developing science, technology and entrepreneurship with a global perspective while remaining grounded in cultural values.
The vision above shows an effort to maintain a balance between the progress of reason (intelligence) and a noble mind. Being smart is not enough, because mere intelligence can be used to the detriment of others.

Cerdas Berbudaya Luhur
From a cultural point of view, cultural values can be seen as part of the form and dimensions of ideal/abstract culture which contain ideological values or ideas.
In the context of Budi Luhur University, these ideological core values are the values of virtue as stated earlier, namely the values of patience, gratitude, love, humility, helping others, mutual cooperation, cooperation, honesty, responsibility, tolerance and manners.
On the one hand, these cultural values continue to be developed, taught, and practiced formally and informally in campus life.
On the other hand, even though these cultural values originate from the reflection of empirical experience within the scope of certain cultural and spiritual systems, the spirit of inclusivity continues to be encouraged.
