The 2021 Shortlist
On 9 March 2021, the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, announced the names of the six artists shortlisted for the first post-pandemic Fourth Plinth Commission. They are Nicole Eisenman, Samson Kambalu, Goshka Macuga, Ibrahim Mahama, Teresa Margolles and Paloma Varga Weisz.

Countdown to the Final Two
After the two winning sculptures are approved and announced by the Mayor in the summer of 2021, plans will be set in motion for their unveiling, one at a time, in 2022 and 2024. The current display, THE END by Heather Phillipson, will be taken down in Summer 2022.
