Elbphilharmonie
Members of the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester gave winners of a raffle and media representatives a backstage tour one sunny afternoon in November 2016.
The tour took place on the occasion of the orchestra’s move to its new rehearsal facilities. Orchestra manager Achim Dobschall explained all about the day-to-day activities here.

The musicians’ instruments, concert attire and sheet music are transported in the large cases.
The changing rooms and rehearsal rooms are designed specifically for the needs of musicians. The large conductors’ changing room offers plenty of space for concert preparation, meetings and has an ensuite bathroom.
Double bassist Benedikt Kany shows the lockers located in the cello and double bass rehearsal room. Each locker is designed for meeting the needs of the different instruments. Musicians can store their instruments, concert attire and personal belongings in the lockers.

... and some fresh air.
The Green Room is located between the backstage area of the Grand Hall and the foyer. This is where musicians can sign autographs and welcome their fans. This room is also used for meetings outside the concert season.
