GE engineer Ed Powers takes brother Johnny Powers to view Thomas Edison’s reconstructed laboratory at Greenfield Village. There they discuss Edison’s role in developing the incandescent lamp, improvements in the lamp by GE scientists, and the founding of GE’s Schenectady Works. Then Ed and Johnny visit GE’s Nela Park lighting campus in Cleveland, Ohio, examine the latest in GE lighting technology, and learn how fluorescent lamps work.
