In 2017, Nigerian Bolanle Austen-Peters decided to tell the story of the women who stood by and supported Afrobeat legend and Icon, Fela Anikulapo Kuti. The musical chronicles Nigerian Afrobeat legend birth, activism and his non-traditional family. It explores the life of the legend Fela, and the women that were an integral part of his band.
