The Les Spots cooperative society of collective interest was created in January 2019 out of the desire to serves as a toolbox for the local area, with the aim of: developing third places, transitional urban planning and sustainable revitalization of the area.
From the beginning, the Le Spot team was driven by a desire to bring new value to a disadvantaged and abandoned neighborhood through art and culture.
The recognition of its actions by many institutional, associative and private bodies in the Gambetta-Richelieu districts allowed Le Spot to create and temporarily occupy three places: Chez Mémé (2015–18), L’archipel (2016–20) and Le Vaisseau 3008 (2020–22).
These places are frequented by many artists, collectives, self-employed workers, companies and associations that can be accommodated, or that are beneficiaries, partners or even stakeholders in these transitional spaces.

It's a beautiful story, one that we would like to hear and see more often in Nîmes. A short temporary occupation lasting less than two years, led by the association Le Spot in Nîmes, was able to create a place for it in the local cultural landscape until June 2022.
