With the majority of the area forested and undisturbed, the park is a complete representation of the ecosystems of the upper northeastern region of Thailand.

The diverse ecosystems in the park are home to unique plant species such as Magnolia thailandica, Sapria himalayana, Dacrydium elatum, Aquilaria crassna, Eulophia flava, and Paphiopedilum hirsutissimum.

Its cave system extends more than 10.6 km deep into the mountains and reaches up to 995 m in height.
