Eesti - looks to create a new life that runs through the heavy foundations of an ex-prison through an ingenious staircase system.
Eesti - Interior Architecture
Designed by Lieze Vanlerberghe 'Eesti' won the Interior Architecture Category in the Global Design Graduate Show in collaboration with Gucci 2022.
Lieze Vanlerberghe is a recent graduate from KASK School of Arts Ghent holding a degree in Temporary Installations / Interior Design. Her work is a design intervention to create a new life for an Rummu Prison, a former labour camp in Estonia.

An ingenious staircase system that moves in a very fragile way through the openings. Throughout the walk, you experience the building's surroundings from different perspectives.
"This project is very personal and emotional. After all, I was happy to pay a last tribute to Estonia."
"My biggest motivation is seeing my designs on paper turn into something concrete in reality. My ideas are always all over the place and making it concrete, satisfies me. I always try a lot to push a lot of boundaries."
