"Carla Sozzani has an exceptional eye for photography, and she is today one of the most important women in the history of fashion. Like everything else, fashion has a history. Some survive in that history; others vanish from it. Carla will survive. And she does not restrict herself to fashion. She has a vision, of which fashion forms a part, but that vision encompasses design, art, life, and culture as well. She knows, and is well versed. Her photography collection is her portrait, and therein lies its emotion. We look at her collection and see her character, her gaze, her vision." Azzedine Alaïa
