In the Rhododendron & Azalea Dell there are currently some 80
species and cultivars of the Rhododendron genus on display. Peak
blooming time for these beauties is May and June although some cultivars
bloom in the late summer.
A number of Rhododendrons and Azaleas take turn flowering in early spring creating a colorful scene in their wooded setting. Visitors wait anxiously each year for the spectacular show of blooms.
Orange, yellow and fuchsia Azaleas dot the edge of the dell. Each plant is labeled for easy identification.
The Dell is a short walk from the Visitor's Center, located in a small valley with towering oaks. This scenic area is situated along the southern edge of the East Loop path.
Our Tuesday morning volunteer men's group diligently cares for the Rhododendron and Azalea Dell.
