Magazines

In this exhibition, we will explore the collection of magazines that are sources of information on the main economic events, trends and technical references for the capital market.

In 2024, the Reference Center processed 1027 copies of periodicals, dating from the late 40s to the mid-90s. Here, we present some highlights:

Revista da Bolsa (1976-12-01/1992-12-31) by BovespaMUB3 - Museu da bolsa do Brasil

Revista da Bolsa

Published between 1947 and 1976, its issues initially only presented statistical bulletins with market data, such as stock trading, indexes, price variations and other relevant indicators. These bulletins were important tools for investors and analysts.

Revista Bolsa (1967-06-01/1967-06-01) by BVRJMUB3 - Museu da bolsa do Brasil

Revista Bolsa

The magazine, published from 1967 to 1989, was an initiative of Bolsa de Valores do Rio de Janeiro. The publication had several editorial sections, including the "Stock Exchange Notebook", with technical analyses, and the "Weekly Summary", with the main market events.

Resenha BM&F (2005-11-01/2005-11-01) by BM&FMUB3 - Museu da bolsa do Brasil

Resenha BM&F

From 1985 to 2008, the magazine was launched with the purpose of disseminating the culture and dynamics of the futures market. With technical articles, market analyses and an editorial written by the president of the Exchange, Resenha provided a comprehensive view of the sector.

Revista Bovespa. (1996-10-01/1996-10-01) by BovespaMUB3 - Museu da bolsa do Brasil

Revista Bovespa

Published between 1993 and 2008, it featured a broad editorial, from technical articles to interviews with market figures.  The highlight was the “Stock Market Stories” section, produced by the Bovespa Memory Center, which featured interesting facts about the history of the capital market.

The purpose of the Reference Center is to technically process and disseminate all collections that portray the Brazilian capital market. From these valuable collections, MUB3 - Museu da Bolsa do Brasil was created in 2022.
How about learning a little more about what goes on behind the scenes?

The technical treatment begins with analysis of the magazines, such as checking titles, dates, editions and other relevant information.

Cleaning (2023-09-29/2023-09-29) by Natalia TondaMUB3 - Museu da bolsa do Brasil

Cleaning is a process that aims to prevent deterioration and damage caused by dirt, promoting the longevity of documents.

Description from Revista Bovespa (2024-07-11/2024-07-11) by Natalia TondaMUB3 - Museu da bolsa do Brasil

In cataloging, detailed information is assigned about the specimens - physical characteristics, content, date, among others.

Storing (2024-07-11/2024-07-11) by Natalia TondaMUB3 - Museu da bolsa do Brasil

Packaging creates layers of protection against degradation factors such as dirt, humidity and light. For magazines, we use polywave boxes with appropriate dimensions and specific identification.

Resenha BM&F Digitization (2024-07-11/2024-07-11) by Natalia TondaMUB3 - Museu da bolsa do Brasil

During digitization, high-resolution images are generated. This process allows the wide dissemination of collections while maintaining their long-term conservation.

Future

MUB3 is constantly dedicated to projects aimed at the collection management of its collection. The main goal is to make the collections increasingly accessible. You can access the magazines in one click!
