Nicknamed “The Old Fox,” Harry Bath (1924–2008) was one of Australian rugby league’s most influential coaches. Appointed national coach and sole selector in 1962, he led Australia to World Cup victories in 1968 and 1970. At club level, he guided Balmain to two Grand Finals and later rebuilt a youthful St. George team – known as “Bath’s Babes” - into a premiership-winning side in 1977 and 1979. Retiring in 1981, Bath left a lasting coaching legacy of innovation and leadership.
