Addressing The Homeless Community Of Chicago - Xavier Pacheco 1 (2022) by Xavier PachecoGlobal Creative Graduate Showcase
Addressing The Homeless Community of Chicago
Designed by Xavier Pacheco, 'Addressing The Homeless Community of Chicago' won the Service Design Category in the Global Design Graduate Show in collaboration with Gucci 2022.
Xavier Pacheco is a recent graduate from UIC School of Design in Chicago holding a degree in Industrial Design. His work AllY is a user-centered support system designed for Chicago's homeless community.
The system provides information about nearby resources through infographic support maps and connects them to service locations via the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). AllY puts an ally on the streets of Chicago to assist homeless individuals.
"I feel that this award shines light upon a social issue that is not receiving the necessary attention that it deserves. This problem of homelessness and the stigma we have associated with this community is seen across all parts of the world."
