Chineke! Chamber Ensemble

In addition to the main orchestral series, principal players of the Chineke! Orchestra perform regularly together as the Chineke! Chamber Ensemble. The ensemble has performed extensively across the UK at festivals including the Cheltenham Festival, Ryedale Festival, Tonbridge Music Club, Wimbledon International Festival, Cambridge Music Festival, St George’s Bristol and at Snape Maltings.

Chineke! Chamber Ensemble backstage at Wigmore Hall on 21 June 2019. In keeping with Chineke!'s commitment to championing works by Black, Asian and ethnically diverse composers, the ensemble performed NNENNA by Errollyn Wallen CBE and Samuel Coleridge-Taylor's Nonet in F minor.

Chineke! Chamber Ensemble performing String Quartet No. 3 by Joseph Boulogne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges (1745 – 1799). Bologne was a French-Gaudeloupean virtuoso violinist, composer and champion fencer in the 18th Century.

Snape Maltings, August 2020

After months of lockdown, the Chineke! Chamber Ensemble performed at Snape Maltings. Opening the iconic venue's returning weekend concert series, they performed Schubert’s Piano Quintet “The Trout” and music by Florence B Price.
