New exhibit about trials opens
The Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum becomes the repository for trial evidence. In 2006, the “Behind the Scene” exhibit opens, detailing the FBI investigation that led to the arrests and convictions of Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols.

Law passes requiring bombing in state curriculum
In 2010, Governor Brad Henry signs legislation into law ensuring the Oklahoma City bombing and the response to it will be incorporated into the Oklahoma history social studies core curriculum.
Memorial Museum undergoes multi-million dollar enhancements

Archives department continues to collect items
Throughout the decade, the Archives collects artifacts, photos, letters, and personal items from those killed, families, survivors, and first responders—preserving their stories to ensure future generations understand the lasting impact of the bombing.
The Survivor Tree thrives
Oklahoma Forestry Services and arborists care for the Survivor Tree year-round. They collect its seeds so saplings can be grown and planted around the world—spreading the tree’s powerful message of hope and resilience far beyond Oklahoma City.
The Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon continues
Throughout this decade, the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon continues to draw runners and visitors to honor those who were killed, those who survived, and those changed forever. From 2006 to 2015, nearly 200,000 runners take part in this powerful Run to Remember.
