Seoul Light DDP 2023 Winter 'Digital Nature'

Seoul Light DDP 2023 began with the question, 'Can the real nature, which has existed since the beginning of time, coexist with technological nature created by humanity'. In the winter, digital technology was used to recreate the primal beauty of nature. With grand depictions of the sea, forest, and sky, we hoped visitors discovered the true value of the nature and our connection with it.

This work conveyed a message of reflecting on the coexistence of humanity and nature, and striving toward a hopeful future.

'Digital Atlantis' was a new utopia created by learning Earth's long history through AI technology. It vividly depicted the grandeur of nature — including deep seas, dense forests, towering rocks, and waterfalls — as well as a digitized city.

The digital world created by new technology rapidly expanded, beginning a beautiful coexistence with nature and providing humanity with a more convenient living environment.

However, the digitalized nature lost its inherent vitality, and errors began to appear everywhere. Fortunately, the roots of life—exclusive to nature—became the sustaining force for the ruined city. Humans learned from data on coexistence with nature in this new environment, recovered, and envisioned a future where they live in harmony with the natural world.

'Digital Atlantis' took us on a journey from primordial nature to a digital city, envisioning a hopeful future where life’s roots coexisted with technology. It sought to awaken a sense of coexistence, inspired by nature, and highlighted the balance between nature and humanity within the digital realm.

On a winter day with sugar snow falling, Christmas has arrived at DDP's Cookie Kingdom. The little cookies, busy with their steps, prepared Christmas ornaments filled with memories from the year. As their small memories gathered, they created a heartwarming Christmas story on the grand tree.

Meanwhile, the gift workshop was busy as cookies prepared Christmas presents, while excited sugar gnomes hum with joy. The brave cookie parade began, filling the kingdom with carols, laughter, and Christmas cheer, carried on snowflakes, spreading happiness to all.

Just like the cookies who ran out of the oven and built their kingdom, the work embodied the wish for a braver and bolder year ahead.
