Ariel
Disney Dismembered is a series of oil paintings combined with a display of textile and plaster sculpture pieces.
Elsa
Through a mix of scientific anatomy and reimagined, famous Disney princesses, combined, each painting and anatomical sculpture deconstructs the fantasy and glamorization of Disney remakes, by rooting them in their original, often gruesome 19th century folklores.
Aurora
Idolistic princesses no longer become a construct in which to escape reality but rather stand as a reminder of cold, scientific truth.
Cinderella
Snow White
Pocahontas
As each princess proudly models their dissected section, their linking and historically correct anatomical parts sit in jars underneath each portrait, prodded with needles and labelled artifacts, as if curated for analytical scrutiny in an alluring, yet macabre, small musuem of curiosities.
