The Poetics of Immersion

The Festival, since its creation, has presented collective exhibition environments for visitors to have at their disposal the diversity of technological art. In 2017, the Festival presents an unpublished modality yet, called FILE SOLO, that shows the set of works of a single artist and explores the relation art, technology and creativity. The majority of the Festival, which arrives in its 18th edition, dialogues with the artistic maturity and consolidated trajectory of Lawrence Malstaf. His interactive work between visual arts and performance creates insightful sensory experiences for viewers. This creative universe of interaction, immersion and experience is inspired by technology.

Shrink

The essence of Shrink is to be a very challenging environment. If you are able to lose control, give up your physical fitness and let go your fear, it can become a very comfortable experience.

The work can be considered a metaphor for the relations of the people with each other and with the surrounding space. Chairs move as individuals and demonstrate a kind of group behavior.

Hidden beneath the surface, an invisible mechanism produces a subtle yet intense tactile experience for the spine. In the middle of the trajectory, visitors are confronted with two horizontal mirrors moving up and down above them.
