The 17th edition of the International Digital Art Festival ELEKTRA. Theme: AUTOMATA - Art Made By Machines For Machines. Performances at Arsenal Contemporary Art and SAT - Society for Art and Technology.
The festival examines the implications of the development of artificial intelligence on arts and culture, presenting robotic, immersive, sculptural and digital video artworks, as well as virtual and augmented reality.

Inferno (2016) by Louis-Philippe Demers & Bill VornELEKTRA
Bleu Remix is a sequel to Bleu Provisoire (2001), a performance in which Yann Marussich lets a blue-tinted biological liquid ooze through the layers of his skin, representing the movement of the body’s inner processes. Marussich takes us on an intimate journey through his body, accompanied by Montreal musician Aether Pilot for this performance.
BLINK was the last creation of the duo Steve Buchanan and Boris Edelstein, recently joined by Laetitia Doizelle. Through costumes, a performer, a live soundtrack and a light show, BLINK immerses the audience in an extreme environment where distortion and emotion coexist.
For Rund-Funk-Empfangs-Saal the idea of the radiohall is inverted. Edwin van der Heide and Jan-Peter E.R. Sonntag take the signals in the electromagnetic space that intersect the concert hall as source material for their performance.
to stab (2016) by Nelmarie du PreezELEKTRA
'to stab' aims to reveal questions with regards to ‘the self’ constituted by ‘the other’ in the mapping of relation.
VERTEX draws on the complex behaviours of mechanical energy dissipating in different media. The artists Jean Piché & Patrick St-Denis illustrate this physicality through a three-dimensional device in which sound and light are subjected to the forces of elevation and rotation.
