Time Owes Us Remembrance

Amanda Phingbodhipakkiya gathered her experiences from the journey and her conversations with textile communities as an inspiration for the art installation “Time Owes Us Remembrance”.

Her fabric canopy invites us to come together to honor the voices, hands, and stories of people who lovingly craft and imbue textiles with depth and life.

Intricately woven swaths of cotton and silk hang heavy with memory, their hues whisper from vibrant fruits and flora born of native soils, punctuated by bursts of color from recycled and reclaimed materials.

Equipment used during the local textile production that the artist saw during her journey has also been inserted into "Time Owes Us Remembrance".
