Bernice Ameyaw was born in 1993 and lives in Kasoa and Kumasi, Ghana. In 2017, she graduated with a BFA in Painting and Sculpture from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana.

Bernice Ameyaw’s installations thrive on gathering and fabricating disused objects. In the time of COVID-19 when we are physically distancing, the idea of gathering remains ever pertinent.

By not gathering, we lose the shape and rhythm of our communities. Even at the risk of being mundane, the hope is that gatherings will become possible (again).

Bernice Ameyaw's work is informed by her imaginative sketches and found objects. Her installations are composed by waste including car parts, utensils and scrap metals.
