Go On A Virtual Tour to 2038

You can enter the Cloud Pavilion on any device, anytime, from anywhere, by following the link on the 2038, Google Arts and Culture page or one of our numerous partner websites, or by scanning the QR-Codes.

Before entering, you stand in the lobby, where you can see and hear the happenings inside the pavilion. The experience of entering is different for everyone, depending on the type of device. In any case, it’s easy: just follow the instructions on your screen and JOIN ROOM.

Once you decide to join, you will need to pick an avatar – your virtual character – to explore the pavilion. There is a set of 24 characters to choose from, in addition to plants and other animals. Feel free to upload your own avatar! We are curious to see new beings around. 

Once inside, you can move around and explore the pavilion. Again, this will be a different spatial experience for everyone depending on the device: from human body to cell phone. Before watching the films of 2038, look around you. Get familiar with the space. 

There is no doubt: The themes in 2038 are complex. Which is why we recommend exploring them with others. Invite your friends by sending them an invite-link or approach with other visitors in the pavilion to discuss.  

There are numerous themes and spaces in the pavilion to be discussed and explored. Talk to the other visitors – either in groups or individually – by walking up to them with your avatar. Once you are close enough, you will hear each other speak and can even chat privately. 

Over time, new content, like live-streamed events and curated guest content, will be added to the exhibition, feeding reality back into virtuality. As 2038 is a non-linear project, it's worth a second and third visit. Stay tuned.
