The Giga-Hertz Award exists since 2007. International artists like Pierre Boulez, John Chowning, Brian Eno, Laurie Anderson or Pierre Henry have received the award in the past. It is the aim of the Giga-Hertz-Award to foster the innovative creativity in the field of digital music.
As an Icon of analogue synthesiser music with super long durations and one of the few women in this field was Eliane Radigue award in 2019. Here are some words of her thoughts in an interview with the composer in her apartment in Paris.

"The Hub" was awarded the Giga-Hertz-Award for their exceptional influence in genres like Live Coding, Network Music, Circuit Bending and interactive improvisation at a time were most of these genres were not existing.

In 2016 Curtis Roads received the Giga-Hertz Award. His influence on compositional thinking, and technical creation was quite strong. As one of the inventors of granular synthesis and editor of the "Computer Music Tutorial" he has influenced many composers.
