Jesús Muñoz Dances Flamenco by Jesús Muñoz FlamencoNational Hispanic Cultural Center
Flamenco
Jesús Muñoz is nationally and internationally recognized for having created a unique original method and rhythm fusing his American roots with traditional Spanish influence.
Like jazz, flamenco has its roots in raw, intimate improvisation upon standard structures; it improvises through interpretations of the structures of cante jondo, or deep song. This show, Jesús Muñoz Flamenco in Red Note, featured original music and works composed and performed by a cast of international dancers and musicians.

Ballet
The Nutcracker Ballet in the Land of Enchantment comes to life in the late 1800s in territorial New Mexico, with many surprises including Spanish and flamenco dancers, dancing southwestern snakes, sheep and shepherdesses, hummingbirds, a lively fandango, and a storyteller doll with children.
Carnaval
The National Hispanic Cultural Center's annual celebration of Carnaval is a festive and colorful evening of music and dance featuring the Odara Dance Ensemble and the musical group PANdemonium. Pilar Leto, founder, choreographer and artistic director of the Odara Dance Ensemble, and Frank Leto, musical director and leader of PANdemonium, have created a dazzling spectacle of engaging music, vibrant dance, and beautiful costumes.
