Chase & Status

How the duo came be a part Ram Records history

*Below are excerpts from the RAM25 book*

Scott: Andy was on tour and we were chatting on the phone catching up on releases and artists, discussing how we felt we needed to find another act to do artist albums. I said "I think we should approach Chase & Status and see if they're up for it. They're doing good stuff on Bingo and Hardware and all these other labels, I think if we got behind them and focussed, it could be something big."

Andy: I said "Yeah, Let's call them. I'm playing all their tunes in my sets anyway. Let's go for it." Scott just had a very clear idea that this is what we should do, he had the foresight to think artists, albums, these guys.

Scott: For me, it was about finding someone who had the ambition. And there was just something going on with them. Andy phoned them up and Saul didn't believe that he was calling them, but we got them to come to Hornchurch for a meeting.
