The technology

The sound recording is made with the classic Decca tree with three microphones in a T-shape above the conductor. Of course, sometimes we put some extra microphones on certain instruments or soloists, but the base is always the Decca rig. The processing of the signal and the sound design is made by Lars Nilsson at Nilento Studios.

The GSOPlay studio

The 9 robotic cameras are controlled from the studio, managed by the Producer Måns Pär Fogelberg. In the team there are two camera operators and one person reading the scores during the recording. We send live 4-5 times per year and the concerts are available for VOD 30 days after the recordings.

Barbara Hannigan sings and conducts these beautiful pieces by NONO & HAYDN, Djamila Boupacha & Symphony no 49, as a connected piece in a breathtaking performance with Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra. Recorded 13 January 2016.

As the Latin name indicates, Musica Vitae presents the Music of Life to its audiences. Its repertoire spans three centuries and the orchestra is known on the international stage in particular for its newly written music and exciting combinations. With their Artistic Leader Malin Broman and cello soloist Andreas Brantelid they here perform Joseph Haydn's Cello Concerto no 1 in Gothenburg Concert Hall.

In honor of Jean Sibelius' 150th birthday (8 December 2015), Charles DeRamus has arranged and recorded Valse Triste, op.44 for six double basses.

At a concert in Gothenburg Concert Hall October 23, 2013, Christian Zacharias stopped playing in the middle of Haydn's Piano Concerto, interrupted by a cell phone ringing for the second time the same concert. He also shares his views on disturbed concerts.
