Piabanha River: the beginning of it all

In the early 1900s, in the midst of transformations in the state of Rio de Janeiro, the construction of Alberto Torres Power Plant, in the city of Três Rios, marked a decisive step in the country's electrification. Popularly called Piabanha Power Plant, it became a symbol of the modernization that was arriving in the region.
