Stepmother Hortensia
Cinderella's volatile stepmother can switch in the blink of an eye from ruthlessly ambitious social climber to drunken liability.
She is constantly cruel to Cinderella, vicious to the Prince when he is disguised as a beggar, and desperate to secure advantageous marriages for her daughters.
When the search for the glass slipper's mysterious owner is afoot, she even attempts to hammer it on to Stepsister Edwina's foot with a mallet!

Stepsisters Edwina and Clementine
The stepsisters in this production are not your typical 'ugly stepsisters'. Christopher Wheeldon describes them as 'perhaps uglier of spirit [rather] than physically ugly'.
Stepsister Edwina (in pink) is the older, more glamorous and nastier of the two. Flirtatious, ambitious like her mother, and cruel to Cinderella, she is not particularly nice to her younger sister Clementine either.
Stepsister Clementine (in purple) is goofier, more awkward, and kinder to Cinderella. She falls for the Prince's friend Benjamin, and at the end of the ballet is united with him.

Benjamin
Prince Guillaume's fun-loving best friend Benjamin is the closest thing he has to a brother, and is something of a prankster.
Benjamin and Guillaume agree that Benjamin will disguise himself as the Prince as they deliver invitations to the ball. Stepmother Hortensia and both Stepsisters lavish attention on him in this guise.
Benjamin ends up falling for the younger and kinder Stepsister Clementine, for whom he declares his love at the end of the ballet.
