June Festival at Arraiá Complexo

The Arraiá Complexo took place in June 2019 in the central courtyard of the Cultural Complex and had popular cultural groups, forró (a genre of music from West Brazil) and quadrilhas juninas (square dancing) as attractions. In total, there were nine attractions over the two days of the festival.

There were also presentations by the groups Caco de Cuia and Tria balançado that are forró groups, and the Quadrilha Junina Sí Bobiá a Gente Pimba.   

A lively night where the population of Samambaia and the Federal District have fun and get to know the popular cultures of Brazil. 

The Quadrilha junina Sí Bobiá a Gente Pimba is very well known by the people of Samambaia and very important for fans of quadrilha junina.

On the second night we had another June quadrilha with Flor do mamulengo and Trio Siridó, Paulinho do Forró, Chinelo de Couro, and Forró do B.  

In addition to the attractions performing on the bandstand, there was the food court with local vendors. 

They were two great days of the festival with forró presentations, quadrilhas juninas, typical foods, and games that made sure the community had fun right through to the end.

Samambaia is the place with the most famous quadrilhas juninas of the Federal District. Over the years, the city has become a model for holding typical winter festivals.

The Arraiá was beautiful, with a good crowd of about 700 people in all. There was also a large number of vendors in the food court and they were pleased with their sales over the two days of the festival. 

The modern, multifunctional and sustainable architecture makes the Samambaia Cultural Complex a great stage for various artistic languages and has a positive impact on the creative economy and the quality of life of the community.
