The Chicago Housewares Show of 1959

The Chicago Defender Newspaper hosted a Housewares Show for Black Families to have a chance to purchase wares for their homes and perhaps a new car.  Vendors came from near and far to market to these African American households in a new emerging Black Middle Class.  It was a great revenue generator for the newspaper and brought exciting products to the Black Community.
