We might not have been able to march or party but LGBTQ+ people didn't stay hidden this summer....
Pride Inside took over the nation’s outdoor advertising sites to showcase our community in all its diverse, united, socially distant glory...
Photographs of over 100 queer people - taken by queer photographers - were displayed on over 1,000 of Clear Channel UK’s advertising screens for two weeks from June 15th-28th.
All taken from a socially distanced position, these stunning images were on display in towns and cities up and down the country, celebrating LGBTQ+ people as they marked Pride from the safety of their own homes.

Now more than ever it is crucial that LGBTQ+ people from all walks of life are visible and proud in our public spaces. LGBTQ+ people are disproportionately more likely to experience difficulty with their mental health, with isolation being a key factor in that. Pride Inside is an opportunity to remain as proud and visible as ever and send a message to LGBTQ+ people everywhere - you’re not alone.
We're here, we're queer, and we're staying at home... but we still have Pride!
Pride Inside is a not-for-profit grassroots campaign that was created to fill the void left by the cancellation of Pride events this summer. It is the brainchild of drag star, writer and performer Ginger Johnson and has been brought to life by a group of brilliant LGBTQ+ people from the worlds of photography, design, theatre and media, as well as over 100 models from across the UK.
The campaign is using this unique opportunity to raise awareness of the work of local grassroots LGBTQ+ charities nationwide....
Pride Inside partnered with LGBT+ Consortium to collect donations to be distributed to organisations across the UK who provide vital services for the queer community.
Paul Roberts OBE, Chief Executive of LGBT+ Consortium, said: “Covid-19 is having a real impact on our LGBT+ communities. Pride would ordinarily be a time for the visibility and increased awareness of issues facing our communities. This campaign offers a digital alternative and Consortium is delighted to see the diversity and intersectionality of our communities captured through these photographs. I hope this campaign let’s LGBT+ people know you are not alone and there is support out there.”
Pride Inside has been wholly created and put together by a group of queer people while all of our photographers and contributors are also members of the LGBTQ+ community.
But we have had some amazing support from Clear Channel, Goldsmiths University, Google Arts & Culture, as well as our dedicated team of administrative volunteers.
