In The Lieutenant-Nun Is Passing: An Autobiography of Katalina, Antonio, Alonso and More (2021), Mercedes Azpilicueta presents an exercise in historiographic imagination: through the use of tapestry, commonly associated with female domestic work and subaltern knowledge.

In this work, Mahama presents a commentary on the historical economic relationship established by Ghana with other countries. The jute sacks, collected in the exchange markets of his country, used for the transport of grains distributed to America and Europe.

2) Educational processes

In the installation Sobre este mismo mundo (2009), Cinthia Marcelle appropriates elements of formal education. Marcelle reflects on the infinite writings and rewritings carried out over time and the processes of memory formation.

This installation is inspired by the drawings of children abandoned in the classrooms of an old school in a Kosovar village. It materializes hope and aspirations of the youth of their country, thus building bridges between different worlds and generations.

Tim Berresheim, Future Gipsy Antifolklore IV & VIII, 2010

Berresheim promotes a fold in the perception of gypsy culture: historically marginalized and not integrated into contemporary society due to discrimination, through his narratives we remember that other worlds have always been here, and with them we rewrite the future.

In this sense, educational processes and the way in which beliefs interact with our present take on an expanded dimension, as we think about the Collegium collection and the institution that begins to be delineated from it.

Our mission as an institution is to open a dialogue between the Collegium collection and other works in order to sharpen our perception and provide us with tools that help us to dismantle hegemony and thus rethink our environment from a new perspective.
