PEÑARANDA DE DUERO (BURGOS) 09/11/1972.- Actor Fernando Fernán Gómez during a break in the filming of the movie “Don Quixote Rides Again” a Mexican-Spanish coproduction directed by Roberto Gavaldón whose filming began today in the Burgos town of Peñaranda de Duero. The Spanish artist, who plays Don Quixote, shares the prominence with actors Mario Moreno “Cantinflas” and María Fernanda D’Ocon who play Sancho Panza and Dulcinea respectively.

MADRID 03/08/1973.- World premiere in the Madrid theatre Capitol of the film “Don Quixote Rides Again” Mexican Spanish coproduction, starring Mario Moreno “Cantinflas”, Fernando Fernán Gómez and María Fernanda D’Ocon.

Valdemorillo (Madrid) 5-28-1990.- Filmmaker Manuel Gutiérrez Aragón films for TVE the +Quixote+ about some scripts signed by Camilo J. Cela. The series, produced by Emiliano Piedra, will have a first part of six episodes and a second one of seven or eight that will direct Mario Camus. Granada, 05.25.05.- A cabezudo of Don Quixote during the parade of the “Tarasca”, where a mannequin dressed following this season’s fashion riding a dragon accompanied by giants and big heads, announces by the streets of the center of Granada the beginning of the important days of the festivity of the Corpus Christi 2005.

CITY OF MEXICO (MEXICO).- A giant Quixote of ten meters high, made by the artisans of the city Nezahualcoyotl, in the state of Mexico, has been installed in fron of the National Palace of the Mexican Capital, to show it to children going to school who visit this old building seat of the old Mexican presidents .

Madrid 08/25/05 A man dressed as the Quixote takes part in an attempt to beat the record Guinness of people reaing the Quixote simultaneously that is organized by groups of friends of the Madrid town of Alcalá de Henares on occasion of the patron festivities.

HAVANA (CUBA), 09/25/05.- The Cuban theatre group “El Mirón Cubano” presents a play “Of the weird and anachronist adventure of Don Quixote in an island of the Caribbean and other events…” in a park of Havana during the closure ceremony of the XII Theatre Fest in Havana(Cuba) celebrated today, Sunday 25th of September.

Bilbao, 11/16/2005.- The ingenious gentlemen Don Quixote of La Mancha talking to a passenger of a cercanías train of RENFE. Don Quixote and his faithful squire Sancho Panza have opted in Bilbao to let their rides rest and ride a Renfe Cercanias Train instead to tell their tale to the travelers of the lines that join the capital from Biscay to Santurtzi, Muskiz and Orduña. From past Monday 14th of November until next Friday the 25th, the two most famous characters of Spanish literature will liven up mornings for the users of Renfe, an initiative that will commemorate the IV centenary of the publishing of the notable work of Miguel de Cervantes.

Almagro 11/21/05.- Today opened in the Corral de Comedias of Almagro the I International Congress of Young Readers of the Quixote, where students from high school of several autonomies and six countries among them Argentina, Morocco, Bulgaria and Luxemburg. Alcalá de Henares (Madrid), 12/03/2005.- The theatre group “Els Comediants” represent the show ‘The Praise of Folly’ by the streets of the old quarter of Alcalá de Henares to commemorate the seventh anniversary of the title of the title of World Heritage Site given by the Unesco to this town hall in 1998, and the end of the Quixote year.

SUCHITOTO (EL SALVADOR), 07/02/06.- The figure of “Don Quixote of La Mancha” of the sculptor from El Salvador Alfredo Farfán, built with different parts of cars is displayed today, Sunday 2nd of July, in the central square of the city of Suchitoto, 43 kilometers north from the capital, to commemorate the 148 years of the founding of the city.

EL CAIRO (EGYPT) 04/23/08 Moment of the play of Ali al-Zibaq, performed by the members of the Wamba Egyptian group, that are trying to recover and spread this old Egyptian art. The El Cairo Cervantes Institute has celebrated today the International Book Day with a traditional Egyptian theatre of shadows and puppets to bring together both shores of the Mediterranean with an art that Miguel de Cervantes already depicted in “The Quixote”.

LIMA (PERU) 11/12/2013.- Two inmates of the Miguel Castro Castro prison dressed as the Quixote(l) and Sancho Panza (2nd-l) play pieces of the Spanish novel “The ingenious gentleman Don Quixote de la Mancha” today, Tuesday 12th of November 2013, in Lima (Peru). The play is part of a campaign of the Penitentiary National Institute (INPE) to encourage reading among the inmates, in the beginning of the campaign named “The book as an extension of imagination”. “What we want is to encourage reading among the inmates and for society to take part and donate (books)” told Efe the chief of INPE, José Luis Pérez Guadalupe.
