While living in Switzerland Kirchner and his pupils used to go up the mountains with their girlfriends or wives and thane nude baths. we can see how the nudes in the picture look more imposing than the mountains or rocks around them, and the high contrast between the pink on the rocks the dark green vegetation and the orange glowing over the mountains, another example of the non natural colors kirchner often used.
