Abraham Lincoln was the 16th President of the United States, serving from March 1861 until his assassination in April 1865. He was born on 12th  February 1809 in Kentucky. He didn’t drink, smoke, or chew. Lincoln was a simple man of tastes, and he never drank in the White House. the leader who successfully prosecuted the Civil War to preserve the nation. He played in key role in passage of the Thirteenth Amendment, which ended slavery in America.Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation which began the process of freedom for America's slaves. The document also allowed black soldiers to fight for the Union. 5.On March 10, 1849, Abraham Lincoln filed a patent for a device for “buoying vessels over shoals” with the US Patent Office. Patent No. 6,469 was approved two months later, giving Abraham Lincoln the honor of being the only US president to hold a patent.
