Heomok was a Confucian scholar who worked during the middle of the Joseon Dynasty. He aimed at 'Pre-Qing Confucian(先秦儒學)' than the mainstream 'Zhu Xi's Neo-Confucianism(朱子性理學)'. He studied mainly ancient texts, had created original script(眉叟篆). He made a song to praise the Sea of the East(東海) for the sake of the sea, and made a monument with his own unique script.
