Nereida Apaza (Arequipa, 1979) offers a critique of the traditional education system and teaching methods based upon the repetition and memorizing of content. This work is composed of representations of lined and squared notebook pages, containing texts that evoke the tasks demanded by the traditional education system, with images that actually refer to the artist’s own memories, thoughts and emotions. These images contain the personal recollections of the artist; those things she chooses to recall and which form part of her own life experience, and that of her family.
